Air treatment
Scan-Air developed the CounterFlow heat exchanger. This device uses warm exhaust air from the barn to preheat the incoming fresh air. Our unique PP pipe system allows the cooler fresh air to pass through without mixing, ensuring maximum efficiency. This innovative process not only saves energy but also promotes an even distribution of air throughout the building. The thermal efficiency is over 80%, which can lead to energy savings of 60%. The heat exchanger meets the BWL standards for fine dust and ammonia reduction.
Mechanism
The CounterFlow heat exchanger is powered by high-pressure fans and efficiently moves both outgoing and incoming air through the heat exchanger. The exhaust air is drawn to the outside of the pipes, where heat transfer occurs, before being discharged through the exhaust duct. Simultaneously, the fresh incoming air is drawn to the inside of the same pipes, absorbing heat from the exhaust air and then being pushed into the building. The air is well distributed throughout the building via the louvre system and recirculation fans.
Cleaning
For easy cleaning during use, the CounterFlow heat exchanger can be equipped with an automatic rinsing system. The shutters are fitted with rubber seals, ensuring a good seal to prevent air leaks and maintain system efficiency. The entire unit is made of polypropylene insulated panels, making cleaning easy and ensuring a long lifespan.
Development and Production
In the development and production of the heat exchanger, Scan-Air works closely with its subsidiary Kunststoftechniek NL. With an extensive machine park and over 30 years of experience in the plastics industry, our team is ready to develop and/or produce sustainable plastic solutions for you. This includes welding the casing of heat exchangers and/or air handling units, installing supplied components in a WTW unit or air handling unit. We can also design and produce customer-specific accessories.
